Hmmmm... vacation!

Husband, Hedgehog and I just had a lovely vacation with friends in Florida. It was very exciting for us as it was only our third vacation together since moving East in 2003. We have always spent all of our money and time going on short visits back West. Nothing wrong with this, but this is the second time we have been away for 7 days or more, going for a whole week instead of three to five days. That extra time makes it feel more like a break.

It was wonderfully relaxing, and we now hope to save up and get away for vacations like this more in the future.

This was a great way for Husband to start his parental leave and me to finish up my maternity leave.

Hedgehog rocked the change in scenery too. He slept well, was only really cranky once. All the fresh air just tuckered him out. (tuckered seemed to be the word of the week to describe him). One night we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner, and he slept through three of the their "rainstorms" which were hugely loud. Just too tired to care.
